Ely Dog Park

The Ely Dog Park is located at 2100 Old Airport Rd. The property is located on City of Ely Land, adjacent to the softball fields, and is leased by the Ely Dog Park Non-profit group. The Softball fields are off limits to domestic pets, and only the designated Dog Park should be used for pets (refer to the map to the right). The Ely Dog Park is maintained and operated by the Ely Dog Park non-profit, and not the City of Ely. Rules and Regulations

1.      Follow all conditions set forth in the conditional use permit.

2.      Dog park hours are dawn to dusk.

3.      Dog must be at least 6 months old, and visibly wearing a City of Ely pet license tag. If a visitor is not a City of Ely resident, a current visible rabies tag is acceptable.

4.      Dogs known to be aggressive or females in heat are not allowed in the dog park. Dogs declared as dangerous animals under Ely city code, or potentially dangerous under state statute, are not permitted in the dog park.  

5.      Pinch, prong, and spikes collars are not allowed in the dog park.

6.      Owners must clean up after their dog(s) and deposit feces in the containers provided.

7.      All dogs must be leashed outside of the dog park, and off leash in the dog park. Owners must be in control, and have sight of their dog(s) at all times.  A leash must be carried by the handler at all times, even in the off-leash area.  

8.      Dog owners are legally and financially responsible for their dog’s behavior. If your dog inflicts injury to another dog, or person, you must give your name and contact number to the other party involved before leaving the park.

9.      The City of Ely, and the Ely Dog Park Association are not responsible for the supervision of dogs, or damage or injury caused by a dog. Your presence in the dog park is at your own risk.

10.  Food, glass containers, alcohol, cannabis/cannabinoid and tobacco products and use are all prohibited from the dog park.

11.  Anyone seeing violations of these rules should contact the Ely Dog Park Association at 218-235-3137. If you need to report an emergency, call 9-1-1.

12.  The location of the Dog Park is 2100 Old Airport Rd.

13.  Motor vehicles are prohibited except for approved maintenance vehicles.

14.  All other city park rules apply.

15.  Dogs will not be allowed on any of the other baseball/softball fields other than the designated Dog Park.

16.  It will be the responsibility of the Ely Dog Park to educate and uphold these rules.
