Skating rinks will close on the following days: Days when it is -20° wind-chill or colder, warm weather- The Rink is subject to close if the ice becomes too soft to skate on. Snow accumulation of four or more inches. During ice maintenance and flooding operations. Subject to closure without notice. Please Check closures and the most up to date information at the City’s website https://www.ely.mn.us/reccenter. There shall be no smoking or tobacco on the Ely Recreation Facility grounds to include the ice rinks. No alcoholic beverages shall be allowed on the Ely Recreation Facility grounds to include the ice rinks.  (City Ordinance states that no alcoholic beverages may be consumed on park property.) No sleds are permitted on the general skating rinks. No hockey playing is permitted on the open skating rink. No dangerous games are permitted. No pets are allowed in the Ely Recreation Facility or on the ice.   Boot hockey is not permitted during operating hours unless approved by the Ely Parks and Recreation Committee. Hockey sticks are not allowed in the Ely Recreation Facility, they are to be kept outside. The public may not keep personal property in the Ely Recreation Facility overnight. If no Rink attendant on site, Skate at your own risk, and the warming area will not be open.
